When it comes time for a city or county to complete their annual budget as required by statute, MDP can help. Our budget process is not just about compliance, it sets out the plan for the next year.

Our team makes sure that utility funds are meeting certain financial benchmarks and we review the assessed value and discuss if there have been any issues or significant changes. MDP also provides various scenarios for mill levy setting, as well as setting up a capital improvement plan and start the process of funding the plan.

Finally, MDP will also review the cash position of each fund and determine if the fund is meeting certain financial benchmarks.

Using a scorecard system that our firm has developed, we determine the financial condition of the city or county to help the Mayor and/or City Council determine financial strengths and weaknesses.
